David Lee Shower

1952 - 2022

David Lee Shower, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2 (2022) at his home. He was 70 years old.
The son of Leroy Shower and Lyla (Kline) Laffoon was born on June 8, 1952, in Salem, Oregon.
David graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelors' Degree in Animal Science with a minor in Business. He started his career in business and hospitality at the age of 16 when he began working as a bellboy at the Holiday Inn. He worked his way through the ranks and eventually became the owner and operator of the hotel. David later managed the Harrison Country Club for many years and was also the store manager of Payless Shoes. He also worked as a waiter at DeVito's and Diamond Head for nearly 20 years.
David was a family man with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His children lovingly remembered a few of his favorite sayings including, "Clothes in the Dryer", "I'm Just the Father", "Oh My God", "Ice Cube Trays" and "Fingerrrrr."
David also enjoyed plants and gardening. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Laffoon.
Survivors include his father, Leroy Shower; his mother, Lyla Laffoon; two sons, Tommy (Kammie) Shower and Timmy (Kayla Knight) Shower; one daughter, Lexi (Ryan) Williams; seven grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Jr., Rydgelan Williams, Mason Ott, Avery Ott, Ally Ott, Tre Turner, and Sheridan Saunders; two sisters, Debbie (Gene) Youngblood and Dorothy (Bill) Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Pallbearers are Cody Bramley, Thomas Shower, Tim Shower, Ryan Williams, Devon Boswell, and Brandon Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include T.J. Wilson and Issac Perkins.
