Duane Nofsinger Obituary

Duane Edward Nofsinger, of Harrison, aged 87, passed away on the evening of December 29, 2024, at his home.
He was born February 21, 1937, to parents George Nofsinger and Audra (Warner) Nofsinger who preceded him in death as did his sister, Faith Nofsinger, and his wife of 58 years, Martha Jane (Brisco) Nofsinger. Duane and Martha Jane were owners/operators of Duane's Radiator Shop for over 30 years. Duane enjoyed long scenic drives, hiking, camping and being in the woods. He grew up on Sulphur Mountain.
Duane had attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church for the last several years. He was a veteran in the US Army and received training at Fort Leonard Wood in 1962, serving both active duty and in reserves until 1967.
Duane is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Ron Mitchell; his son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Tina Nofsinger; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah (Mitchell) and Brandon Shope, Lucas Mitchell, Morgan Nofsinger, and Shelby (Nofsinger) and Harley Yeckel; five great-grandchildren, Abigail and Andrew Shope, and Graysen, Pierson and Ronan Yeckel; three sisters, Joan (Nofsinger) and Everett Palmer, Evangeline (Nofsinger) and Marion Duvall, Ruth (Nofsinger) and George Sodon, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 2, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, January 3, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Brother Heath Kirkpatrick officiating.  Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends.
