Juanita Godfrey

1924 - 2025

Juanita Godfrey, 101, passed away April 15, at Willard Walker Hospice House, in Fayetteville. Mrs Juanita was a long time resident of Harrison. She was born to Christopher Tabor, and Martha (Sharp) Tabor, January 7, 1924 in Pyatt. She married James Godfrey, June 19, 1943 in Yuma, Ariz. Together they raised 2 children.
She worked for Levi Industries in Harrison, was active in her church and cherished her family. Juanita, also known to many as Mamaw, she was loved by everyone, she treated everyone she knew as her own. She is a child of God and loved the Lord. She was very active in church and loved her outings with the ladies. Her extended life was a true gift from God, and some of that may be due to her faithful walks at the mall. Juanita loved her children and raised them well. Her home was always open and provided a safe haven for many. Mamaw was fun! The great grandkids favorite memories of her are playing football in the backyard and playing catch.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Godfrey, son, Michael Godfrey and daughter Brenda Jackson, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her grandsons James Jackson (Terri Plant), and Remington Godfrey (Lacey Godfrey), granddaughter Leighanna Godfrey and two greatgrandsons, Kemper and Theo Godfrey. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mamaw will be greatly missed, but praise the Lord, We will see her again.
Visitation will be at Roller Christeson Funeral Home, Monday, April 21, 6-8 p.m. Services will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m.
