Albert J. LeBlanc, 92, of Wethersfield and formerly East Hartford, beloved husband for 68 years of the late Marie J. "Mary" (LeBlanc) LeBlanc, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday (December 11, 2013) with his loving family by his side. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on September 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Phelias and Exelda (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. He lived in East Hartford for 40 years prior to moving to Wethersfield in 2012. Albert was a talented baker who worked at First National Bakeries for many years. He was a former communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in East Hartford, and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the men's and women's UCONN basketball teams. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Albert will be dearly missed by his daughter, Suzanne M. "Sue" Gibilisco and her husband Richard of Wethersfield, with whom he made his home; five adored grandchildren, Nicole Van Bochoven and her husband Steve of Wethersfield, Alison Romeo and her husband Matt of Trumbull, Marissa L. Gibilisco of Wethersfield, Brian LeBlanc and his wife Diane of Middletown, DE and Kevin LeBlanc of Bolton; four cherished great grandchildren, Tyler, Devin, Dylan and Izaak; a special daughter-in-law, Marjorie Purcell of East Hartford and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Paul J. LeBlanc. Al was the oldest sibling and was predeceased by his brother and his five sisters. Al's family would like to say a special Thank You to Wencke, his caregiver for the past year. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 36 Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Family and friends may visit the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Friday from 5 - 7pm. Donations in Albert's memory may be made to Masonic Care Partners Hospice, 33 North Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.desopo.com.
