Dear Rachael and Family,
It's been many years since we spoke but I heard the sad news today of Andy's untimely passing and wanted to send our deepest condolences.
Remembering happy memories of working with Andy at Worldwide Wines, the hilarious Caribbean company cruise, our vacation to Montserrat in 1986 and many other happy times we shared.
May your heartbreak turn to warm memories in the not to distant future.
With sympathy and love.

Andrew helped my husband and I with his therapy and we will miss him very much. Throughout our sessions he would mention his wife who he seemed to adore. Sending you thoughts and prayers during this time. We are so sorry for your loss

Dear Rachel and all of Andy´s family,
Barbara and I send you our love and heartfelt condolences. We are shocked by this tragic news.
Andy and I were very close in our teens and twenties. We had great fun together in USY, singing and performing in our Jewish jug band, Felafel.
Life separated us except for occasional phone calls when we would laugh, complain and catch up. I really thought we would have more of those calls.
Andy was a real mensch and a gite neshama. Through his generous heart, his calming presence and his devotion to his work he touched many people and made their lives better.
We send our hugs to all of his loved ones and friends. May God grant comfort and strength to all who mourn his loss. His memory is a blessing and inspiration.

Rachel, I was shocked and so upset when I heard about Andy. I have wonderful memories of him at Kol Ami, converting my 2baby grandchildren and our Jewish Christmas Eves at Deb & Bob´s & downing our " shots". Memories I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I met Andy through his passion to learn the game of golf. It didn´t treat him as well as he treated the game, but Andy was always a great plating partner. His sense of humor always had him looking at the bright side of things and he enjoyed the camaraderie that golf provides. He will be messed.

Rachel and family, I´m shocked and saddened by this news. Andy and I go back to junior high school and he was always kind and caring, with a good wit. He will be sorely missed. May the memories wrap around you like one of his hugs. Sending mine. EJ/Jill Cohen

Dear Rachel and Andy´s family - we are sorry to hear the sad news about the passing of Rabbi Andy Hechtman.
We got to know Andy as our director of the SNEC Israeli Young Emissary program in 2001-2002, at camp Shalom, exciting and wondering what year we headed to as a group of 18y old.
In the big dark night of camp Shalom, Andy was the lighted-smiley person welcoming us, and he did that for us throughout the whole year:
When we were introduced to our hosts,
On the events of September 11th,
When we came to meet his congregation,
When we lost our friend Ilan,
When we made funny or crazy 18yo things,
When we made him proud hearing the great "Shlichut" we´re doing and when he sent us back to Israel with a great experience.
We hope that in this SAD MOMENT you will remember the song we wrote for him at the goodbye party- Andy to the music of the known "Angie" by The Rolling Stones. This made him joyful.
He was passionate about Israel, about the partnership and he loved us as his own family.
Sending you all a big hug and our deepest condolences for your loss

To Andy´s family we are deeply sorry for your loss. As a client, Andy provided a sounding board through family change. As a friend, he was excited to share the improvement in his golf game. I will remember him as a true Mensch.

Andy was our father figure when we arrived to Connecticut as young emissaries 23 years ago. He hosted us at his house few times and guided us trough the new culture and habbits that we didn't know.
He had a big impact on me and I am very sad to hear about his loss. Sending the family my condolences from Israel.

Rabbi,
Thank you so much for all of the amazing memories. We will always think of you and smile, when we sing Shalom Aleichem. Or when we do a L'CHAIM or two.
To know you, was to love you. For that, we are so beyond grateful.
Your memory will always be for a blessing.
Much love always~
