Anthony DeLucca Obituary

DeLUCCA, Anthony Anthony James DeLucca, 70, passed away on Tuesday (October 7, 2008), at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven while bravely battling a rare intestinal disease, sclerosing mesenteritis.Tony was born February 24, 1938 in New Haven to the late Joseph and Mary (Capella) DeLucca. He lived in Wallingford for 36 years. He spent the last year in East Lyme with his son Steve, his wife Lori and grandchildren Paige, Jesse, and Erin. He was able to enjoy the shore and watching his grandchildren play sports. Tony is predeceased by his wife Doris who will now be able to continue her loving care of him. They were married on October 23, 1958 while he was stationed in Germany. He worked many years for Suburban Propane, Connecticut Heat & Fuel, Siemen's, and Travelers Insurance. He is also predeceased by his sister Elizabeth and brother Joseph, both formerly of New Haven. In addition to his son and family, Tony is survived by his brother James and his wife Irma of Clinton; his sister Eleanor Burns, her husband Harry, and son Scott of New Mexico. The family would like to acknowledge their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, doctors and staff at the West Haven Veterans Hospital for the care that Tony received. Dad, we love you forever, Steven, Lori, Paige, Jesse, and Erin. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, 10 a.m., at In Memorial Cemetery, Wallingford.
