Anthony Jakubauskas Obituary
Anthony V. Jakubauskas, 48, of Niantic, passed way unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Born in New Britain, on May 24, 1965, Tony was one of four sons to Ann (Antonioli) and the late John V. Jakubauskas. Raised in New Britain, he attended local schools, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy upon graduation from New Britain High School, proudly serving his country for four years. Tony was currently employed as a mechanic for Triumph Actuation Systems in Niantic. He had a lifelong love for the ocean, was an avid fisherman, and from the age of twelve, was an expert lobsterman, selling commercially as an adult. Tony had a special place in his heart for all animals, keeping the neighborhood pets well fed. He will be greatly missed by his family, leaving many cherished memories. In addition to his mom, he leaves his brothers, John and his wife, Marty of Newington; Edward of Myrtle Beach, and Allen and his wife, Nicole of WA; and was a proud uncle to his niece and nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St, Plainville. Committal services with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may gather directly at the church for visitation prior to the Mass, from 9-10 a.m. Tony's love for animals may be remembered with donations to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111. Tony, Is and Was a great man! I am deeply saddened by the loss of a man that was a friend, heart of sole that remembered - withouth fail - my childrens birthdays and all the other holidays. He helped us with our gardens, our thoughts, and our lives. The White Family pays respect and shares our prayers to you and your family.
