SALERNO, Anthony
Anthony "Tony" Salerno, 32, of West Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2012. He was born on March 18, 1979 in Hartford and was a 1998 graduate of Newington High School. He was a bartender extraordinaire at Hartford Golf Club and recently at Wethersfield Country Club. Tony is survived by his mother Donna DiGregorio of Wethersfield; his father Ron Salerno and his wife Penny of Newington; his brother Nicky Salerno and his wife Lisa of Amston; his sister Jeana Salerno of Deep River; and his aunts Debra Raymond of Wethersfield, Jeana Occhialini, who was also his godmother, Claudia Zocco, Kate Griffin; and uncles Albert Salerno and John Zocco. He also leaves behind his step-brother Jeff Alexander; step-sisters Sabrina Church and Danielle Reardon; his best friends Justin, Steve and Mike and many cousins. Tony loved reading, the beach and Hot Sauce, sandwiches, fishing, music, the outdoors, and Sundays with Momma, but his favorite thing of all was making others laugh. His love of family and friends was contagious.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 2nd at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 183 Church Street, Newington. Everyone is asked to please proceed directly to church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Friends may call at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. For online expressions of sympathy to the family, please visit www.desopo.com.
