Anthony Wasilefsky Obituary

Anthony ("Tony") John Wasilefsky, age 82, passed peacefully on June 22 in Tampa, Florida with his family by his side after a hard fought and long-term battle with Parkinson's and other related illnesses. Tony leaves behind his beloved wife Suzanne (nee Riendeau), his children Mark (Kimberly) Wasilefsky, Nicole (Brian) Waicunas, and Troy (Barret) Wasilefsky, and his grandchildren, Samantha, Paxton, Devin, Gage, Elle and Hugh Wasilefsky. Tony was a remarkable "glass half full" man who had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met. He was the loving big brother to his three siblings, George Wasilefsky, Thomas Wasilefsky and the late Barbara Chase when they needed him most, and he proudly served his country as a Corpsman in the US Air Force. Tony married his wife of 58 years, Suzanne, in 1965 and raised their family in Tolland, CT. Tony worked in various skilled labor positions until he decided to get his real estate license, which, together with his love of people and quick mind, turned into a long and successful career that touched many people. Tony gave back as a member of the Elks Lodge and the Jaycees, and, along with Suzanne, was invested in the running of scholarship pageants which helped pave the way for many young women to continue their education. Tony was a wonderful father and instilled his incredible ability to build and to fix anything, a gift that all his children share. Tony and Suzanne had a long, happy, beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter which perhaps was the greatest gift of all. In lieu of donations or other acts of material giving in Tony's name, the family asks that you simply wish someone a "Great Day" after you read this. If you knew Tony you'll get it; if not, please do it anyway just because it feels good.

So sorry to read of Tony´s passing.

We first met him when we bought our first house in Vernon in 1971. His Company set up our building of our second house in Vernon in 1979, and when we looked to move again in 2005, he showed up representing his firm on the owner side. Truly a small world!

We live at the opposite end of Tolland Green from where he and Suzanne lived, and, in the intervening years we traded messages and phone calls.

He and I shared service in the usaf and traded stories.

I´m gonna miss our conversations.

I remember you Dad, every day. Every day is a "great day." You taught us to look forward, to find the joy, and to always discover "what's next?" and "what can be?" I love you and I will see you on the other side... Love you, forever, your Picky...

Tom and Julie and Suzanne--So sorry to read about Tony. It's getting harder and harder every year to read these. My warmest condolences to you both and Suzanne. I have thought of you often throughout the years. Have enjoyed telling stories of some of the wonderful dumb things we did! But we sure had fun!!
The email address above is not mine. I lost mine and after having many problems with it I stopped using it. However! in the event I get it up and running again--which I hope will be soon--it's
