GEIGER, Arthur Edward
Arthur Edward Geiger, 89, of Middletown, beloved husband of the late Ella (Schultz) Geiger, passed away on February 7, 2013, at Middlesex Hospital. Mr. Geiger was born in Manhattan, NY on May 14, 1923 a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Maas) Geiger and lived in Connecticut for the past 81 years. Mr. Geiger was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II having served on a cutter patrolling the east coast of the U.S. He became associated with Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rocky Hill, where he was the president. He retired after 60 years of service with the funeral home. He is survived by Amy Webb and a sister Betty Geiger McNally (Charles) of Lakeland, FL, his three nieces Mrs. Karen Kovach (Gap) of Lakeland, FL, Mrs Nancy McNally Wagner of Port Washington, NY, and Mrs. Susan Brakeley (Harry) of Marblehead, MA. He is also survived by several children of the nieces. He was predeceased a brother, Warren Geiger of Jacksonville Beach, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, 11 a.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial with military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. inside the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church 24 Old Church St. Middletown, CT. 06457.
