WELTON, Audrey Audrey Welton, 72, of New Britain died Wednesday (January 12, 2005) at New Britain General Hospital. A native and life long New Britain resident, she was daughter of the late George and Amy (Carlson) Welton. A graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1949, Audrey was a nurse's assistant at Newington Chidren's Hospital for 43 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, New Britain; the Caring Network as well as the Altar Guild of the church. Surviving Audrey is a brother, Donald Welton and his wife Marlene of Clifton Park, NY; and a sister Sandra Kirby of Wakefield, MA; a niece, Kirsten Weber and three nephews, D. James Welton Jr., Christopher and Thomas Kirby. Funeral services are Saturday 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church or Jefferson House Good Samaritan Fund, 1 John H. Stewart Drive, Newington, CT 06111. Audrey will be greatly missed. We grew up together in the east end of NewBritain and were confirmed the same year and went through classes together. Please accept my condolences,Sandy,Donald and families.
