Barbara Jean Hickey

HICKEY, Barbara Jean (Hunt) Barbara Jean (Hunt) Hickey, 81, of Maple Ave., Old Saybrook, beloved wife of John "Jack" Hickey, died Monday (July 6, 2009) at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Maurice and Katherine (Foley) Hunt. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved walks on the beach with her husband, spending time with her family, antiquing and trips to Vermont. Barbara will be remembered during her early years for her passion for figure skating. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Katherine Swanson and her husband Darin of Plainville and Donna St. Amand and her husband William of Cromwell; four grandchildren, John Nunes and his wife Laurie Marshall-Nunes, Samantha Nunes, Joel St. Amand, and Kelly St. Amand; and two great grandchildren, Jason Nunes and Keith Nunes. She was predeceased by her brother, Maurice "Skip" Hunt. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Middletown. Burial will be held in Indian Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral service.
