Bernadine Marie Hale

Bernadine Marie (Harter) Hale, 91, of Coventry, widow of Charles Wadsworth Hale, Jr., died Friday, (January 18, 2002) at her home. Bernadine was born June 9, 1910 in Newark, New Jersey, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Glennon) Harter. She lived most of her life in New Jersey before moving to Coventry seven years ago. After attending the Newark Conservatory of Music, Bernadine taught piano privately for 40 years and was a church organist for 50 years mostly at St. Michaels Catholic Church in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Bernadine was a devote Catholic who belonged to the Rosary Alter Society at St. Micheals Catholic Church. She was an auxillary member at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey and a member of Monmouth Symphony League. Bernadine is survived by her daughter, Andrea C. Tuttle of Coventry; and her grandson, Derek C. Tuttle of Coventry. She was predeceased by her son, Charles Wadsworth Hale, Ill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Coventry. There will be no calling hours. Coventry Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpk., RT 44, Coventry has charge of the arrangements.
