Bernardo Nunes Obituary

Bernardo S. "Bernie" Nunes, 71, of Newington, died Sunday, (September 22, 2002) at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband and soul mate for 25 years of Maria L. (Ramos) Nunes, of Newington. Born in Ludlow, MA, Bernie lived in the Hartford area for many years before moving to Newington eight years ago and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. He owned and operated the South End Pizza, Hartford for many years. Bernie was a member of the Hartford Portuguese Club and the Elks Club, Middletown and was also an avid huntsman. A loving and devoted father, he leaves his three loves, his daughters, Jennifer Nunes, Krystal Nunes, and Alexis Nunes, all of Newington. He also leaves his two brothers, two sisters, many beloved family members and dear friends. His funeral services will be held Thursday, 9 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Newington Memorial. Pouco tempo tive para privar com o Primo Bernardo, mas foi como se o conhece-se á muitos anos, aprendi muitas coisas com ele, uma delas foi o verdadeiro sentido da vida, da intensidade com que ela se pode viver independentemente da idade.
