WHITE, Blair A.

Blair A. White, 69, of Sword Ave., Enfield, CT, died Thursday, (June 27, 2013) surrounded by his family, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Holt) White. Born in Springfield, MA, a son of the late Blair R. and Norma (Allen) White, he was a lifelong resident of the Enfield community and previously served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Martha Church. He and Joyce were married on July 3, 1965. He was active in the Thompsonville Little League for many years, both as a coach and President of the league. Blair had been employed as a salesman and estimator for Kay's Trucking in East Hartford for 30 years, retiring five years ago. For the past several years he was a volunteer computer instructor at the Enfield Senior Citizens Center. Blair was also an avid golfer and served as a Justice of the Peace for many years. In addition to his devoted wife, Joyce, he his survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Marianne White and Dennis and Michele White, all of Enfield; his sisters, Nancy Simonds and her husband, Michael, of East Windsor, and Cindy M. White of Enfield. He was a devoted "papa" to his two grandsons, Matthew and Daniel White. He also leaves his two sisters-in-law, Carol Maniscalchi and her husband, Vincent, and Linda Blank, all of Putney, VT; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends, especially his friends in "Happy Valley" and his "networking friends."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. in St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave., Enfield. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Blair's family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., on Monday from 5-8 p.m. Donations in Blair's memory may be made to the Enfield Food Shelf, PO Box 699, Enfield, CT 06083-0699.
