Bret C. Arnesen

1958 - 2021

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bret C. Arnesen age 62, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Melinda (Olive) Arnesen and father of Andrew Arnesen (Michelle), Nicholas Arnesen (Carrie Conklin), and Ashley Arnesen. Bret was born in Springfield, VT, on May 1, 1958, son of the late John E. and Frances A. (Crawford) Arnesen. He grew up in South Windsor and was a graduate of South Windsor High School with the Class of 1976. Bret went on to graduate from the University of Vermont. Upon graduating he took a job in Huntington Beach, CA with the California DOT. He met and married the love of his life, Melinda Olive, and they moved back to South Windsor in 1991. Bret then went to work for Mohawk Northeast. He loved being an engineer and was passionate about his work. He loved spending time in Marshfield Vermont, hiking, skiing and just being outdoors. Bret enjoyed playing pool and setback. He was always tinkering around the house and could fix anything. He will be remembered as a carefree soul, a wonderful husband and father and someone who could always make his family laugh. Along with his wife and children he leaves his brother, Robert H. Arnesen and his wife Elizabeth of South Windsor; his two nephews, Kevin, and Brian Arnesen; and his sister-in-law, Mary Dalrymple. His family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021, from 12 – 1 pm, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor.
