Carl Kent Obituary

Carl Kent, 79, of Hartford, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Peggy Sue Kent of 54 years.

Born in Baxley, GA, Carl graduated from Appling County High School, before continuing onto the United Christian Bible Institute in New York. He was employed by United Technologies division of Pratt and Whitney for over 39 years. Carl was a devoted member of the Ebenezer Temple UHCA in Hartford, where he served as a Senior Elder and Sunday School Teacher; sung in the Missionary and Men's choirs; was a member of the Board of Trustees; and served as District Elder the Vice Chair of the Board of Elders of the United Holy Church of America of the New England District. He was also a published poet, and author. In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his daughters, Valerie L. Walker and Loretta Kent-Jamison (Greg); 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Ebenezer Temple UHCA 2194 Main St Hartford. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road in Windsor, with a period of visitation prior 10:00 am to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery.
