Carol Gagnon Obituary

Carol Mabel Firnhaber Gagnon, 85, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021. Carol was born on May 4, 1936, in New Britain, CT. One of six children, she is the daughter of the late Mabel (Green) Firnhaber and Carl Firnhaber. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bernard Gagnon and brother Charles Firnhaber. She leaves her children and their spouses, grandchildren, her sisters and their spouses, brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Carol lived in the Avon/Farmington area all her life. She attended schools in Avon and Canton. She was a graduate of Canton High School in 1954. She was a devoted wife and mother and took great pride in helping her family, working part-time and raising her children. She was a wonderful and loving grandmother who found great joy spending time with her grandchildren. Carol touched the lives of those around her with her kind, generous nature. She truly loved getting together for holidays and special occasions with her immediate and extended family. She sincerely cared for the many people in her life and her presence will be greatly missed. Carol had a passion for gardening and always looked forward to planting flowers and vegetables in her gardens. She also enjoyed antique shopping and cherishing the many crafts made by her family members. Her home and yard always looked so cheerful and welcoming with her beautiful displays of flowers and garden antiques. Everyone that knew Carol will miss her warm kindness and genuine caring for family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Marlborough Health Care in Marlborough, CT for their kindness and care of Carol. They would also like to thank Ahern Funeral Home for handling the final arrangements. In lieu of flowers a donation in Carol's memory may be made to the Parkinson's foundation (parkinson.org). A memorial honoring her life will be held at a date to be determined. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.ahernfuneralhome.com.
