Carol Kroymann Munson

MUNSON, Carol Kroymann Carol Kroymann Munson, 70, of Pond Hill Road, North Haven died Monday (February 16, 2009) at the Hospital of St. Raphael's following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Paul N.L. Munson. She is also survived by her dear son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth K. Munson and Amelia Shen; and their three much loved children, Karl, Amy and Hannah Munson; all of Saratoga, CA. Carol was born in Rockville on Sept. 1, 1938, daughter of the late Emil Kroymann and Ruth Berr Kroymann. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1956, and attended the University of Hartford. She worked for the American Red Cross, Hartford Chapter and the Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ before her marriage in 1963 to Paul. Carol and her family lived in Plymouth, Woodstock and East Haven before moving to North Haven in 1973. She worked for Friendly Ice Cream, J.C. Penney and New Samaritan Corporation for many years, followed by nearly eight years as Office Manager at the North Haven Congregational Church. In later years Carol worked as Bookkeeper at St. James' Episcopal Church in New Haven. A resident of North Haven for many years, she was active there as a member of St. John's Episcopal Church; having helped to form their Stephen Ministry Team and as a member of the Altar Guild. Carol and her family loved to travel and visited many of our 50 states. Funeral Services will be conducted in St. John's Episcopal Church on Saturday morning February 28, at 11 a.m. Friends may greet the family at a reception in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.
