Catalina Ayala was born February 3, 1931 to Vicente Dones Bellafonya and Michaela Flores Cruz in Cidra, P.R. She passed away peacefully April 27, 2017 at home. She is predeceased by her husband Ezequiel Ayala and daughter Felicita. She is survived by her children Migdalia, Wilfredo, Meri, Magdalena, Daniel, Olga, Ivan, Thomas, Candida, Ishmael and their spouses, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and countless other family and friends. Calling hrs Wed, May, 3 5-9pm Thurs, 8-9am DeLeon Funeral Home 104 Main St. Hartford followed by Funeral Mass St. Peter's Church 160 Main St. Hartford.

In the name of God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Doña Catalina was my 2nd mother. Not a child went hungry in Dutch Point. Not only did this wonderful woman raise her children but she also raised, fed, and loved all those who entered 44-A Dutch Point Lane. Somehow, someway, there was always enough to feed another child. Growing up in Dutch Point in the 70's and 80's was beautiful because of what Doña Catalina offered: unconditional love. Unbeknownst to her children, but they all played a major role in my childhood and adolescent development as a student, athlete, and as a human being. Don Ezequiel was the disciplinarian. Doña Catalina was the caregiver, the backbone that held not only her household together, but Dutch Point as well. A memorium should be placed where 44-A Dutch Point Lane once stood. It should read: Here resided a woman who was a village unto herself. It did not take a village to raise the children of Dutch Point...only Doña Catalina. I love you. Your legacy of love and compassion will last until the end of time. Bendición.
