Catherine Jervey Obituary

Catherine (Dennington) Jervey, 101, of West Hartford, died Thursday, (May 9, 2002) at Hartford Hospital. A longtime West Hartford resident, she was the widow of Charles P. Jervey. Mrs. Jervey was born in Macon, GA, the daughter of Robert S. and Jennie (Haas) Dennington. She is survived by two nieces, Elizabeth Evans of Marrow, GA, and Roberta Simmons of Valdosta, GA; and her nephew, John N. Gibbs of Germany. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 15, 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Hartford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Book of Remembrance, c/o Immanuel Congregational Church, 10 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of arrangements.

On behalf of the entire Hartford Seminary community, I would like Betty and Mrs. Jervey's family to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. I just learned of Catherine's passing today, May 28, and am sorry to have missed her Memorial service. I am sure that it was a wonderful tribute to this dear woman.
