Claire Bellis Obituary
Claire (Johnson) Bellis, 89, of Vernon, wife of the late Joseph J. Bellis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014 with her family at her side. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Clarence and Juel (Delaney) Johnson, she grew up and lived in West Hartford before moving to Vernon fifty years ago. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. Claire is survived by her children, Laurie Chesanek of Ellington and Christopher Bellis and his wife Claudia of South Windsor, and three grandchildren, Marissa Wnuk and Zachary and Kyle Bellis. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. Memorial donations in Claire's memory may be made to Hockanum Valley Community Council, 29 Naek Road, Suite 5A, Vernon, CT 06066.
