Connor Casey Obituary

CASEY, Connor Manuel In Heaven and on Earth the angels trumpeted the arrival of a truly pure and innocent soul on Thursday (October 14, 2004). The "Con-man" ascended to his destiny and etched his spirit and courage into the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Although short, his life was filled with love and compassion that cannot be measured by time or place. True peace has blanketed him in warmth not known on Earth. Only in death could his eyes see and his ears hear, his legs now stand strong and the tremors and convulsions of seizures are silenced in eternal bliss. Bathed in love and affection through his mighty struggles he mounted a monumental battle not to just survive but to thrive. Con will be missed dearly by all but especially his loving family. He leaves his mom and dad, Jack and Gina Casey; his best friend and brother, Jack; maternal grandmother, Suzette Coelho of Wethersfield; his "Poppi" Jack and Carolyn Casey; his uncles and aunts, Marie and Bill DeMilia of Newington, Tim and Franca Casey of Wethersfield, Elizabeth and Bruce Dalkowski of Wethersfield, David Casey and Joyce Lacrimosa of Arizona, Mike and Maryellen Casey of Glastonbury, Roy and Rosmarie Coelho of Meriden and John and Tina Coelho of Coventry. His cousins, Billy and Chris DeMilia, Tim and Kelly Casey, Griffin and Brendan Casey, Brittney Dalkowski, Courtney Casey and Stacey and Scott Coelho. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" (Coffey) Casey and grandfather, Manuel Coelho. Connor enjoyed his classmates, teachers and staff at Highcrest Elementary School where he was in the 3rd grade, especially his Para-professional and friend Lisa Kriedel who he loved. To family, friends, and strangers who made Connor's journey their own, we thank you. A special thanks to the Dr.'s and nurses at CCMC, Pediatricians Group of Newington, and all of you who are too numerous to mention that supported us for nine years. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 581 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Internment will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held TODAY, Oct. 17 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highcrest Elementary School, Connor M. Casey Memorial Fund, c/o Highcrest School, 95 Highcrest Rd., Wethersfield, CT 06109.

To all of you who took some time to acknowledge Connor and say such wonderful things I want you to know you have touched our hearts. Just as in his life, Connor's death has once again brought out the most beautiful and magical sentiments of those around him. It is amazing that so many feel our pain. Family, friends, and strangers all of who touched his life continue to do so in his death. All of you have added to our peace and to our healing. My whole family thanks you all so warmly. Connor's Dad. (I'm a computer idiot but hoping to add picture soon.)

My dearest Jack and Gina, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son Connor. I know you felt the beauty of love every time you touched Connors hand and when you felt his breath upon your neck when you held him close. Even in this tragedy there is a wondrous thing, that the beauty of love transends even death and Connors spiritual self is stronger because of the love you gave him. And you truly know that he is basking in his wonderful perfection as he soars through Heaven with the Angels. God's blessing be upon you and your family for strength and peace. Sharon Williams

Gina, Jack and Jack,

You are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this most difficult time. I want to share a small prayer that I found comfort in during times like this.

WHEN GRAY THREADS MAR LIFE'S PATTERN AND SEEM SO OUT OF LINE.

TRUST THE MASTER WEAVER

WHO PLANNED THE WHOLE DESIGN.

FAR IN LIFE'S CHOICEST PATTERN

SOME DARK TREADS MUST APPEAR

SO MAKE THE ROSE THREADS FAIRER,

THE GOLD, MORE BRIGHT AND CLEAR.

THE PATTERN MAY SEEM INTRICATE AND HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

BUT TRUST THE MASTER WEAVER AND HIS STEADY, GUIDING HAND.

Our Dear Friends, Our lives have been blessed and made rich by sharing in the life of Connor...an angel on earth. Now he is an angel in heaven who will be a great source of strength and guidance for you. God chose your very special family for this very special child. Through Connor, you taught us of unconditional love, patience, compassion, and eternal optimism. A Native American prayer reads:Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there; I did not die.

Our heartfelt friendship and love, Val, Bob, Ashley & Elliott

I am sorry and feel bad that this happened. I would always think of him and want to know how he was doing. He meant a lot to me. He would always laugh. I wish I could have seen the things he was laughing at. I wish I could have spent one last time with him. Now I will think of him always as an angel. Love, Elliott "196"

i am a total stranger. the "story "

of Connor, so magnificently written

tore at my heart. he must have been one of those unfathomable gifts of God who for reasons beyond our comprehension places an angel on

Dearest Jack, Gina and Jack,

Nothing ever really dies that is not born anew-

The miracles of nature all tell us this is true.

The flowers sleeping peacefully beneath the winter's snow

Awaken to the sunshine's warmth when spring winds start to blow, And all around on every side, new life and joy appear

To tell us nothing ever dies and we should have no fear,

For death is just a detour along life's winding way

That leads God's chosen children to a bright and glorious day.

We wish you the peace in knowing that Connor waits in a beautiful and joyous place along with Betty and Manny, where there will be no more parting.

We love, respect and admire you Gina, Jack and Jack more than words can express.

Love, hugs and kisses,

Jay, Maritsa and Tim

"I'll lend you, for a little while, a child of mine," He said.

"For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead.

It may be six or seven years, or thirty-two, or three,

But will you, 'til I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, as all from earth return,

But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.

I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true,

And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love--not think the labor vain,

Nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again."

I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done.

For all the joy this child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shower him with tenderness and love him while we may,

And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for him much sooner than we planned,

We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."
