Daniel F. FRENCH

FRENCH, Daniel F. Daniel F. French, 88, of Hartford, the beloved husband of Virginia (Crockett) French, passed away on Friday, (March 25, 2011), at Ellis Manor in Hartford. Born in Hartford to the late James and Mary (Olschefsky) French, Danny was a lifelong Hartford resident and a former member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church. As a youngster he was an altar boy and a member of the choir at Immaculate Conception Church in Hartford. He was a Boston Red Sox fan and an avid duck pin bowler who won many local championships over the years. Virginia often referred to Danny as "the best bowling and life partner I ever had." Danny was a purchasing manager at what was formerly Dentonborn in Hartford, and later worked for Pace in Windsor. In addition to his loving wife Virginia, Danny leaves his nephew Edward Clifford and his wife Nancy of Ridgefield, his nieces; Karen Breen and her husband Richard of Glastonbury, Kathleen Zerbini and her husband James of Ellington, his great niece Catherine, and his great nephews Joshua and Jonathan. He was predeceased by his brothers, James, Edward, Robert and Tommy French, and his sisters, Helen Rattell, Mary Lawrence, Lillian Smith and Florence Clifford. Danny spent many happy times with his dear friends Walter, Josh, John, Don, Mac, Ann and Linda. Danny's funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave. Newington, CT 06111 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Newington. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 9-10:30 a.m. immediately prior to the Mass at Newington Memorial.
