Debra Perrone Obituary

Debra Ruth Perrone was born in Hartford on November 23, 1961. Debbie passed from this world to the next at home surrounded by her loving mother, sister and brother in Vernon on June 13, 2021. She died after a short, brutal battle against cancer, but her death was on her terms, in her bed, and in the home she shared with her sister and her mother. Debbie grew up in Manchester with her father (Vito Joseph Perrone, deceased), her mother (Roberta Ann Perrone of Minot, ND), her brother (Vito John Perrone) and her sister (Ann Marie Perrone). Deb's formative years were filled with family holidays, vacations at the lake and the beach, and school at St. James and East Catholic. She attended Bates College and earned degrees from the Universities of Hartford and Central Connecticut. Debbie began working immediately following graduation. She joined Quest Diagnostics as a lab technician and over the course of a career that spanned three decades she became the Senior National Testing Operations Manager. Her coworkers became a second family, and in Deb's final days they shared their compassion, love, and comfort as well as stories of her rich and amazing career. Deb loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Mexico, California, and the Cayman Islands with her friends, co-workers and family. In addition to Vito Joseph, Roberta Ann, Vito John, and Ann Marie, Debbie had a large extended family of uncles and aunts on both sides of the family tree: Vito's siblings were Anthony, Christine, Frances, and Vincent; Roberta's siblings were Virginia, Jim, John, Jerel, and Jeff. Vito John and his wife Natasha provided Deb with four nephews and nieces to spoil: Alec Vito, Tyler Lawrence, Maya Joan, and Audrey Roberta. Deb's cousins on both coasts and in North Dakota were numerous, loved, and a huge part of her life. Her family loved Debra for her warm, compassionate and generous heart; she will be greatly missed! There will be no public funeral or services as per Deb's final wishes. In lieu of flowers please make donations to her favorite charities: the ASPCA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
