Donna Wasilefsky Obituary

WASILEFSKY, Donna Marie (Jalbert) Donna Marie (Jalbert) Wasilefsky, 61, of Tolland, beloved wife of George Wasilefsky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, (February 2, 2008) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Lawrence and Claire (Fitzgerald) Jalbert, she grew up in Vernon, moving to Tolland 43 years ago. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1964. Donna drove a school bus in Tolland for over 20 years, and she greatly enjoyed all of the children on her bus. She loved animals and had two horses, three great danes and two dachshunds. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Besides her loving husband of 43 years, she is survived by her beloved son, Wayne Wasilefsky and his wife Gina of Ludlow, MA; her grandson Brian; her sister Victoria Dugas and her husband Jeff of West Hartford; two brothers, Wayne Jalbert of Vernon and Vincent Jalbert of Manchester; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Chase and her husband Jeffrey of Florida, Angie Jalbert of Vernon, and Kimberly Jalbert of South Windsor; two brothers-in-law, Anthony Wasilefsky and his wife Suzanne of Tolland, and Thomas Wasilefsky and his wife Julie of Willington; her nieces, Olivia, Jessica, Nicole, Laura, Nicole and Kimberly; her nephews, Ross, Jordan, Mark, Troy, Steve, Keith and Craig; a special aunt, Jean and her husband Gill of Florida, and two very special friends, Denise and Sue. Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by her loving daughter Lee Anne, and a niece Katie. Donna's family would like to thank the Tolland Ambulance Service, Rockville General Hospital Emergency Room and the ICU staff, and the many wonderful nurses who cared for and attended to her. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday, February 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, February 7, 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, Rockville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to Rockville General Hospital, 31 Union Street, Vernon, CT 06066. George, Wayne and family,
I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Donna. She is and always will be someone extremely special to me. I will never forget the great times I shared with her.
