Doris Rose Marie Gleason

1928 - 2021

Doris Rose Marie (St. Onge) GLEASON, 93, of West Hartford, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on July 29, 2021. She was born June 26, 1928, only child of the late Josephine and Ovila St. Onge. She often spoke fondly of her childhood home in Gardner, Massachusetts, where she was cared for by her grandmother, Sarah Cormier. After graduating from Hartford High School, she worked at The Hartford where she met life-long friends. She met and married her cherished husband, Howard, to whom she was married for 54 years before his passing in 2010. Howard and Doris made their first home in East Granby, before moving to West Hartford, where Doris has resided for the past 54 years. She attended Saint Helena, in West Hartford, for many years. Doris found joy in the simplest pleasures in life – the warmth and comfort of her home, reading the Courant cover to cover, playing cards with Howard after a home cooked meal, bridge with her friends at the West Hartford Belles, trips to Rhode Island and Foxwoods, lunch with her son and shopping with her daughter. She took great pleasure in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, always deeply interested in their lives and well-being. She was intensely loyal and will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She leaves her son, Charles H. Gleason and wife Lisa; her daughter, Sara M. Boyle and husband Bill; her cherished grandsons Michael Boyle, Christopher Gleason, Patrick Gleason and Brian Boyle. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, August 5th from 5-7pm, at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT.
