Earl Lovell Obituary

LOVELL, Earl Winfield Earl Winfield Lovell, 95, of Stafford Springs, husband of the late Gertrude (Francke) Lovell (who died August 14, 1992), passed away on Monday, (March 19, 2007). Born in South Thomaston, ME, son of the late Elmore and Annie (Courtney) Lovell, he has lived in Stafford Springs for over 57 years. Earl previously drove for Arrow Bus Lines and Post Road Stages before his employment with Colt Manufacturing in Hartford, where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement in 1975. He served in the Seabees Unit of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by his stepdaughters and their husbands, Patricia and George Kepler of Glastonbury and Mary and John Young, Jr. of South Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Linda Lovell of Wakefield, VA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Earl C. Lovell and his daughter, Ann F. Lovell. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2 p.m. in the chapel at Evergreen Health Care, 205 Chestnut Hill Road, Stafford Springs. Burial will be private in Brewer, ME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Home & Community Health Services, Hospice, P. O. Box 1199, Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
