Dear Mrs. Yost and Family,
We just received the EH Gazette and was surprised and sadden to see the news about Mr. Yost. He was such a wonderful neighbor and friend to us when we lived on Burke Street. My three girls would love to go over to say hello to Mr. Yost and were so happy when he gave them his old tennis balls. We would always make a point to stop by and say hello to you both when we were visiting from Florida, and kept you up on our lives with our annual holiday card and pictures. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and know Mr. Yost will be looking down over all of us here with a huge smile. We will miss him as he was such a dear and wonderful man, and will always remember and cherish those great visits. God Bless!

Dear Mrs. Yost and family;

I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Yost's passing. He was such a terrific guy. My memories of him go so far back........He and his Herald sports pages made so many of us who played Little League, Alumni League, Midget league, Pony League and other youth sports feel like Major Leaguers. As a kid, nothing beat seeing your name or your friend's name in the Herald, thanks to Mr. Yost. He and my Dad were also good friends. I still have a copy of the touching column that Mr. Yost wrote in the Herald following my Dad's death over 30 years ago. Mr. Yost always cared about "Manchester guys" and our families, no matter how far away we moved. I was fortunate to have known Mr. Yost. He will certainly be missed. My most sincere condolences,

Jim Horvath, Jr.

To the Yost family,

We have all lost a perfect gentleman who over 30 years ago gave me encouragement and guidance to enter in the newspaper business. Earl always treated those he wrote about with respect. As a writer, historian and a friend, Mr. Yost will be missed.

Dear Mrs. Yost and Sons: During my college years, I had the good fortune to work summers as a sports writer under Earl's tutelage before I entered the legal profession. The thing I most remember about him was his great integrity. He demonstrated it not only in sports as a writer and official, but in his daily personal life. He was truly an outstanding man. You have my condolences for your loss.
