BOUSQUET, Edgar L.
Edgar L. Bousquet of Branford, formerly of Guilford, died at his home on Thursday, (May 16, 2013) after a long illness surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Bette Bousquet and the father of Susan Cassidy (husband James) of Fairfield, and Lauren Bousquet (husband Stephen Georgiades) of South Windsor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alec DiRienzo, Meaghan Cassidy, and Sean and Lauren Georgiades. He also leaves behind Linda Schlachter of NYC who was like a daughter and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son and best friend Edgar Bousquet, Jr. and his brother Donald "Ducky" Bousquet. Edgar, affectionately known as "Scrud" to family and friends, was born in Boston on Oct. 1, 1930, a son of Edgar and Alice McNamara Bousquet. He worked in sales all his life and retired from the O.F. Mossberg Company in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a life-long member of St. John's Masonic Lodge in Middletown. Scrud was known for his quick wit, larger-than-life personality and devotion to his family. We thank the wonderful home-care staff at Connecticut Hospice for their service and compassion.

Sue, Lauren,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your father and brother Eddie. I had been seeking you all out on facebook and had no luck but came across your fathers obituary. He was a great guy and always good for a laugh when we were kids growing up in NJ. I also never forgot the time you all invited me up to Guilford to visit. Sincerely, Ed Hawks

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Uncle Ed. Without a doubt, one of the most fun, and whimsical personalities I've ever met. What a great guy he was! I know heaven was a ton of fun before, but now, with he and Eddie up there...I can only imagine!

So sorry for your loss. I only got to know Ed for a short time as a client at our gym but that was all it took to learn what a wonderful man he was. Always enjoyed working with Ed and hearing his stories and jokes. He will be missed.
