Edmund Wild Obituary

Edmund Anthony Wild, 88, of Enfield, formerly of Windsor, passed away on January 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in Windsor on December 28, 1930, son of the late Karl and Mae Elizabeth Wild. A graduate of John Fitch High School, Ed worked as a mechanic for Wagner Ford in Simsbury and later the Town of Windsor retiring in 1992. He honorably served overseas in the US Army during the Korean Era and volunteered with the Town of Windsor Civil Defense organization as a part of the underwater recovery team. Ed was a kind and sweet man who loved his family and was exceedingly generous with his time and talents. After losing his devoted wife Marion Wild in 2000, Ed married Beverly M. Rauschenbach and the two resided in Enfield. In addition to his wife Beverly, he leaves his children Jean Wild of Suffield, Stephanie Jubrey of Windsor, Shirley Wild of Worcester, VT, Edmund A. Wild, II of North Granby, Andrea Pratt of Oakdale, CA, Clayton Wild of Southwick, MA; step-children, Kim Cherpak of Enfield and Eric Rauschenbach of Enfield; brother, Karl E. Wild of Windsor and sister, Mae Elizabeth Kronengold of Florida; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the St. Jeanne Jugan Parish - St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Burial and military honors will immediately follow in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor on Monday from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Circle of Care, 144 Danbury Road, Wilton CT 06897 and by visiting www.thecircleofcare.org.
