Edward Mosher Obituary

Edward Platt Mosher III, 76, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on September 26, 1946 to the late Edward and Jacqueline Mosher Jr. He grew up in Connecticut, graduated from Berlin High School, Class of 1964 and enlisted in the United States Navy following in his parent's footsteps. He served on several submarines and destroyers throughout his military service. After his military service, he married the love of his life, Alice (Gering) Mosher and they had three children. He worked as a Teamster for Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, 7-UP and retired from Wonder Bread. He was a member of St. Paul's Parish Church in Berlin Connecticut.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love for his family, and goodwill towards others especially the poor. People described him as generous, loving, funny, and he could always brighten up a room with a joke. He was an athlete, coach and sports fan and an avid golfer; winning multiple golf tournaments and achieving three hole in ones. He loved the New York Yankees, Giants and Rangers. He enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends. Ed was also his grandkids biggest fan at all of their sporting events.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Alice (Gering) Mosher, his son Edward Mosher IV and his wife Katie, his 2 daughters Allyson Formica and her husband Chet, and Bridget Denault and her husband Gary; his siblings Ronald Mosher and his wife Kathy, Dennis Mosher and his wife Mary Ann, Larry Mosher and Sandi Andrew and her husband John; seven grandchildren (Michael, Brian, Nicholle, Brendan, Brooke, Audrey, and Sean) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Diane. Ed's family expresses special thanks to his caregivers, the Newington VA Medical Center and their homecare assistance and Vic Mancini for his special personal care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (February 4, 2023) 10 AM at St. Paul Church, Alling Street, Kensington. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Maple Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting with arrangements. Dear Alice, family and friends of Ed,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Ed´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Alice and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
