SCHLEY, Eleanor W.
Eleanor W. (Mattson) Schley, 98, of Shrewsbury, MA formerly of Falmouth, MA and Rockport, MA, wife of the late Asbury W. Schley passed away on January 30, 2012 at the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Concord, New Hampshire on Dec. 17, 1914, daughter of the late Olof and Elvira (Lindberg) Mattson. Eleanor was a graduate of Rockport High School, Class of 1932 and later attended Salem Teachers College and continued on and graduated from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygienists, Boston in 1934. She worked as a dental hygienist for several dental offices in Boston, Melrose and Connecticut. Eleanor was a member of the Falmouth Women's Club, Senior Citizen Painting Class in Falmouth and the Cape Cod Curling Club. While living in Shrewsbury she enjoyed playing bridge. She was a gifted painter and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She is survived by a son, Scott M. Schley and his wife Laura H. Schley and their two daughters, Kelley E. Schley and Emily P. Schley all of Holden, MA and a stepson, A. Winfield Schley of Falmouth and his children and grandchildren.
A Private Graveside Service was held in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport, MA. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Barnabas Memorial Church, Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540. Arrangements are by the Burgess and Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main St., Rockport. Online condolences may be given at www.burgessandmackey.com.
