Eloise Betkoski Obituary

Eloise A. (Cook) Betkoski, 75, of Blackberry Hill, Beacon Falls, died Friday, (April 19, 2002) at her home. She was the wife of John W. Betkoski, II. Mrs. Betkoski was born in Williamsport, PA, on April 26, 1926, daughter of the late Ross L. and Veronica V. (McGinn) Cook. She was a life long resident of Beacon Falls where she was an active volunteer in the community in various civic and fraternal organizations. She was a member of the Connecticut Horseback Riding Club, a former officer of the Junior Women's Club, the chairman of the Beacon Falls Park and Recreation Commission and served on the Beacon Falls Bicentennial Commission. She was also a lunchroom aide at Laurel Ledge Elementary School. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a past member of the Ladies Guild. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Public Utility Commissioner, John W. Betkoski, III, Peter J. Betkoski, both of Beacon Falls; three daughters, Selectman, Susan A. Cable, Sarah Sally Del Moro, Jill L. Betkoski, all of Beacon Falls; a brother, Ross L. Cook, Jr. of Naugatuck; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 9:15 a.m. from the Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Michael's Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hose Co. #1, Ambulance Corp., 35 Main Street, Beacon Falls 06403 or to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 230 Scarborough Street, Hartford 06105.
