Emily Piasecki Obituary

Emily M. Piasecki, 33, of Colchester, CT passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Killingly, CT. She was the nurturing mother of two children and beloved daughter of Roger S. Piasecki of Higganum, CT, Ramona M. Rousseau (Piasecki) & Kenneth Robidoux of Wethersfield, CT, and her brother Evan J. Piasecki of Southington, CT.

Born in Middletown, Emily lived in Higganum and later attended Colchester Elementary and William J.Johnston Middle School. She graduated from Wethersfield High School in 2007. As a child Emily discovered her passion for art spending hours with her Uncle Gary Piasecki learning how to draw. She followed that passion by taking fine visual art courses at Manchester Community College. Emily's extraordinary artistic ability quickly expanded off the canvas into photography, modeling, and most recently pyrography. Emily was a proud descendant of P.T. Barnum from the Barnum & Bailey Circus which inspired her to take classes to perform aerial acrobatics using Lyra and Silks. Emily loved Halloween and spent many years attending the festivals in Salem, MA. We loved to see her themed family costumes each year and the pumpkin carvings she would create. Emily was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her children above all else and made it a priority to spend quality time with them, creating lifelong memories. She shared her passions and interests with her children including trips to Disney World and the Tulip Festival as well as exploring the great outdoors through fishing, hunting, and camping. Her whole family will miss her making Grandma Diane's Northern Spy Apple Pie.

Emily worked for Eversource since 2011, starting in the office, eventually acquiring her CDL to drive trucks, and then working her way up to an Apprentice Line-Woman. Emily became a union shop steward of local 457 and volunteered her time for Eversource Events.

She is survived by former husband Mark J Steinmiller of Colchester, CT, Grandparents: Doris & Fred Violette of Coventry, Aunts & Uncles: Gary Piasecki, Debra (Gary) Hubley, Kathleen (Michael) Ntoukiantzis, Brian Gendron, Paul & Brenda Rousseau, Vicki Philbrick, Rick (Karen) Violette, Joseph Violette, Cory (Cindy) Violette, Cousins: Michelle (Robert) Zaler, Christopher (Heather) Ntoukiantzis, Rachel & Becca Hubley, Johnathan & Jessica Piasecki, Michael, Jason & Jordan Rutkowski, Melanie (Roger) Williams, Amanda, Joshua, Sean & Katherine Violette.

Emily was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Paul E. & S. Diane Bailey Rousseau, her paternal grandparents Sigmund W. and Margaret A. Lundgren Piasecki, her Aunt & Uncles Terry & Gail Piasecki, Guy Rousseau, Ernie Philbrick, and her cousins Kristen Ntoukiantzis & Nicholas Violette.

Dear Ramona and Family, our sincere condolences on the tragic loss of Emily. We had never met, but had connected through 23 and Me a few years ago. She shared the love she had for her children and the practice she was doing with the Silks. I was glad to get to know her and happy she reached out through the genetic testing.
