Erik Keefer Obituary

It is with the utmost sadness that the Keefer family announces the passing of Erik Marcuson Keefer, who died on May 21, 2021. Erik was an avid member of his community, graduating from Conard High School of West Hartford in 1985. Upon graduating, he chose to serve his country as an army medic from 1987 to 1993. He continued his education to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut. In 2017, he tied the knot with his beloved wife Stacy, with whom he shared a home in Collinsville, CT. Erik was an exceptional outdoorsman, enjoying activities ranging from riding the slopes of Killington Mountain in Vermont, hiking with his family, or enjoying a tubing trip down the river with his friends. Erik was amongst the kindest of people and will be forever remembered and missed by his wife, Stacy Bannister Keefer; daughter Leigha Emerson; mother, Karin Champagne; father, Bryan Keefer; his brother and sister-in-law, Merrill and Megan Keefer; nephews, Jack and Nicholas Keefer; and best friends, Bruce, Pat, Julian, and Tipton. Erik was predeceased by his stepfather, Monty Champagne. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT, 06450. Erik was a lifelong friend of 40+ years. He was always kind, compassionate, and had a quiet strength that drew others to him. I will miss him dearly.
