Ernest F. Burkhardt III, 63, of Somersworth, NH and Leete's Island, Guilford passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the CT Hospice in Branford. He was born July 13, 1958 and was the son of Barbara (Dawson) Burkhardt of Cheshire and Leete's Island and the late Ernest F. Burkhardt Jr. Ernie was a graduate of Southington High School class of 1976 and Keene State College, Keene, N.H. He taught Industrial technology at Barrington Middle School, N.H. and York High School, York ME. He is survived by his daughter Heather Burkhardt of Williston, FL; and Mother, three brothers, Todd Burkhardt and his wife Sandra of Terryville, William Burkhardt of Madison and Timothy Burkhardt and his wife Lynne of Sutton, MA. He also leaves his cherished nieces and nephews: Justin, Meghan, Kelsea Pantages, Amy, Adam, Colin and Jack as well as his longtime friend Linda Boiland. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
