So many great memories with Gene over the years: as a friend, as his CPA, as his golf partner for many years in regular and tournament play and taking advice from him on professionalism in my career. So sorry, Tammy, Caren and Julie. Your dad was "one in a million" and I shall miss him.

My first memory is Mr. Kagan getting out of his Jaguar at the plaza , introducing himself to me, looking around and saying "can you get this place looking better?"... I said I could... he shook my hand - he put his faith in me then and has continued to for 43 years... thank you for being teacher, supporter and friend- peace now. Mike K

Growing up in West Hartford back in the day, 139 Orchard Road was my hang out. Gene, Elaine, Tammy, Caren and Julie were my extended family. I can say from personal experience that Gene was a wonderful father and husband because I was there to witness. I was also able to observe what an incredibly smart, and hard working person he was, because I worked in his law firm as a gopher for a few summers. He took care of everyone in his orbit, and in turn everyone loved and respected him. He was an incredible role model for his kids, I mean just look at the way they turned out - they are all amazing people! He will be missed by all. My sympathies to you - Tammy, Caren and Julie.
