FORMEISTER, Eva
Eva Formeister. It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Formeister announce her passing on Wednesday (August 22, 2012) at Evergreen Health Care Center. Born on December 18, 1921 to Michael Sydoriak and Rose (Sloyanicki) Sydoriak in Simpson, PA. Eva was a resident of East Hartford since 1952. She was the wife of the late Stanley J. Formeister, and is the beloved mother of Patricia A. Formeister, and Paula J. Formeister. She was a former seamstress in Hartford, and a department store manager at Mammoth Mart in East Hartford. She loved to cook and made the world's best pierogis. She loved to garden, and made doilies from tatting an art using thread and a shuttle. Eva came from a large family of 15. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Paul, Steve, Nick, George, Adam, twin sister Mary, Anna, John, Peter, Paulina and two set of stillborn twins. She leaves to morn her passing her daughters; a favorite niece Dr. Rosemary Chuley; a brother-in-law and his wife, Edward and Norma Formeister; and many nieces and nephews. Also, Eva's extended family Paula's husband Kirk King and his family. Many thanks to her caregivers Wendy Lappiere and Maria Chambers for their great care from July 2007 to June 2012. And a special thank-you to the staff at Evergreen Health Care Center. The world lost a beautiful person in Eva; very caring, generous and loving.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, followed by burial at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends, Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Please accept our deepest personal condolences on the passing of Eva. My Mother (Anna) spoke lovingly of her sister often while growing up in Scranton,PA.
