Evelyn Osorio Obituary
Evelyn Osorio, 52, of Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was born July 9, 1964 in Hartford, daughter of Isabel O. Vasquez. Evelyn was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, attended college at Greater Hartford Community College, and was a long-time former employee of the City of Hartford. She is survived by her mother, Isabel O. Vasquez of Hartford; her sister, Elsie Vazquez-Long and her husband Colman, of Windsor, CT; sister, Elba Cruz Calixto and her husband Raul, of Long Beach, CA; brother Wilbert Vazquez and his wife Miriam, of Hartford, CT; brother, Wilfredo Cruz and his wife Ana, of Chula Vista, CA; and the loves of her life, her nieces and nephews, Elliot, Lisa, Bianca, Vincent, Eriel, Marissa, Mariela, Wil, Isabela, Stephanie, Omar, and Wilfredo, Jr. She is predeceased by a sister, Diana T. Cora, of Bronx, NY. Evelyn loved music, dancing, cooking, and her favorite color green. A private burial at Mount Saint Benedict's Cemetery in Bloomfield and ceremony celebrating Evelyn's life will be arranged by her family. The family wishes to thank Hartford Hospital's staff and chaplain for their care and kindness of Evelyn in her time of need.

Evelyn, our childhood memories are irreplaceable. I will never forget your beautiful smile, your warm heart, your passion for cooking, your humor, style, and most importantly the love you so generously gave to all your nieces and nephews. You are in a place of leverlasting grace. I can only hope that we can honor your life in a way that brings you peace. We are forever changed by this loss and the pain we feel is immense, but as a family we will cry together and laugh together and keep you close for the rest of our days.
