Fernando Naya Obituary

Fernando Naya, age 75, of New Britain passed away surrounded by his family and friends Friday (December 13, 2002). Fernando is the beloved husband of Rosa (Marco) Naya. He was born in Pego Province of Alicante, Spain, He has lived in New Britain for 30 years. He was retired from The Fafnir Bearing Company. Fernando was a member of St. Maurice Church and The Spanish American Cultural Club. Besides his devoted wife Rosa he leaves two daughters and their husbands, Rosemarie and John Yungk of New Britain and Serafina and Mark Mangiafico of Kensington. A sister Serafina Naya and her husband Vincente Carrio in Spain. Three grandchildren, Rebecca Carla and Nicholas. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Carlos Naya. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Church, Wightman Rd., New Britain. Burial will be in Spain. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice. The family would like the thank the Staff of the Critical Care Unit at New Britain General Hospital for their kindness and wonderful care to their husband and father and to the family members. The Kenney-Luddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Fernando was a very near and dear friend.We worked together at Fafnir for years.I missed him when I retired and moved back home to Maine and will always hold him near and dear in my heart.So very sorry he was a TRUE friend. Frank Cochrane
