Ma,
It's been a week since we said goodbye and I miss you more everyday.
I wanted to let everyone know who reads this of the peaceful way in which you passed away.
We talked on Tuesday and began to discuss the possiblities of discontinuing treatment. On Wednesday you said to me as I lay with you, that you could not fight the battle anymore. You told me how sorry you were for that but that you were tired and didn't want to go on. I told you, you had nothing to be sorry for and we would all be okay and it was okay. After all Daddy was waiting for you. That night you ate a "HUGE" lobster dinner (your favorite), then Bob, Tom and I tucked you in, and said goodbye. On Thursday morning when I arrived you were still asleep. (I knew it was almost over). Many family members came and went that day. At 5pm the nurses got you all washed up, smelling pretty, and looking comfortable. I sat holding one hand and Dawn holding the other, while Jeff sat by your side. And after a couple of deep breaths you passed away at 6:10pm on Thursday 6/10.
I know you are no longer in pain and are at peace. I find comfort in knowing you and Dad are together and I know you are both finally at PEACE.
I Love You!
Connie
