I knew Fran for years at Hartford Bridge Club, and our common friend Mary P. (They we´re neighbors near us). I liked Fran very very much; she was beautiful, bright, kind, smart....a really lovely woman, who was so proud of her children. I just learned today she had died, as due to Covid, I have not been to The Bridge Club. I am so sorry, and send to her family, especially her children. Pamela Palmer.

So sorry to hear of Frans passing. It was always such a good time to have her and family on the Beth Ann, even if she did bring bananas! She was a nice, good, fun person, I’m truly saddened she has left us.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Fran but I've known Jake since 1996 and my heart breaks for him and the entire family. Clearly, Fran was a wonderful woman filled with love, adventure and a sense of humor. I offer my sincere condolences for this massive loss. Fran will certainly live on through her family. - Jason C.

This obit was thorough, funny, loving and written by someone who shares those attributes. I felt as though I knew her, but I did not. The mention of scouring the photo albums for clues of Fran's love life were most amusing. She was well loved and loved well. Condolences to her family.

I've known Fran for more than 30 years when she began subbing in my local women's bridge group, & then again during the past few years at the Hartford Bridge Club. She was always grateful for bridge bon mots thrown her way & was eager to learn more. However, fun was her first priority at the table. I found her to be upbeat, kind, & interested in whomever she was addressing. I'm very saddened by her passing & extend my condolences to her entire family.

I am greatly saddened by this news. I had the honor of working with Fran at the Woodstock School. She always brought laughter and love into every day. Whether being the PE teacher or the History teacher we knew she would spark the kids into laughter. Frannie Fruman I shall forever smile when I think of you. My sincere sympathy to her loved ones. Rock the heavens Fran.

I will miss Fran, she was able to find meaning in the weirdest fiction piece in the New Yorker, that no one was able to interpret ,she made you look at it from her point of view and we always looked to her for that interpretation and explanation ! I also appreciated her thoughtful very informed opinions on many of the articles and all the different subjects.
I never read a more amazing obituary than this one, to get the full picture who Fran was. Well Done Jennifer ! May her memory always be a blessing ! Veronica

Sadly, I didn't know Fran, but I wish I had. Her obituary found me through Facebook, but I felt compelled to pass it on, both as an example of how to write with equal parts of heart and head, but mostly as a roadmap for how to live a life to its fullest.

Speaking of books, this is inarguably one of the best In Memoriams I have ever read. I wish I had more personal experience with this Legend of a woman, but I have come to enjoy her spirit and lasting influence through her wonderful, thoughtful, kind, funny and adventurous son Joe. All my best to the family.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Fran.
I knew Fran from the Hartford Bridge Club where I always found her to be witty, cheerful and unassuming. During the pandemic I was privileged to guide her through the travails of on-line ‘virtual’ bridge game and enjoyed our games together.
I will surely miss her.
