I want to add a bit more about Franks life- Frank was a tin can sailor of WWII. He was a crew member of the destroyer The Mansfield that survived the Japanese kamikazis and Halseys typhoon in the Pacific in WWII. He loved history and in particular had a lot of interest in the civil war by which he had read many books. He loved to talk about his life with family growing up in Waterbury and then Stamford Ct., where he had many friends that predeceased him. He loved to play baseball in his younger days. He followed in his family's shoes by becoming a teacher. He devoted many years to his students as a teacher and even had kept correspondence with a few students through all these years. His known ancestoral roots go back many years prior to the civil war to Canaan Ct. and county Cork Ireland.
