Francis "Frank" A. Sullivan, Jr. 81, the husband of the late Helen (Twigg) Sullivan died on Wednesday (June 12,2013) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Boston the son of the late Francis, Sr. and Margaret (McKay) Sullivan and had lived in Manchester for many years. He was a graduate of Boston College class of 1953 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was formerly employed by the Corning Glass Works and after retiring he served as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was an active member of St. Bridget Church in Manchester and greatly enjoyed his time spent on Cape Cod and had a true love for animals. Frank is survived by his children Att. John F. Sullivan and his wife Christine of Manchester, Mary-Beth Sullivan of Manchester and Michael J. Sullivan and his wife Karen of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Jack, Molly and Grace; his brother James Sullivan of Waltham, MA; his sister Ruth Sullivan of Wellesley, MA and several nieces and nephews. Frank was also predeceased by his sister K. Patricia Colleran.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (6/17) at 10:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester with burial in St. Bridget Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday (6/16) from 3-6. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bridget School, Advancement Office, 74 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042.
