Frank Sievel Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, and cherished friend, Frank Joseph Sievel. He departed this world on July 7, 2023, at the age of 74 leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Frank was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his gentle expression, kindness, unwavering patience, and jovial manner. It was not uncommon to find him laughing to the point where tears rolled down his cheeks.

Frank was born on June 24, 1949, in Bristol, CT to Joseph and Nellie (Kisarewich) Sievel. He was the second oldest of five children. Frank graduated from Torrington High School and received his BS degree from UConn School of Insurance. He began his work career at Travelers Insurance Company and retired from United Healthcare after 45 dedicated years of service as Regional Contract Manager.

A loyal husband, Frank showered his wife, Louise, with unwavering love and support throughout their 52 years of marriage. Their bond was built on trust, love, and devotion. This union was an inspiration for the true power of a lifelong partnership.

As a father, Frank was a pillar of strength and guidance for his children, Todd and Kara. He instilled in them the values of a strong education, compassion, kindness, and perseverance always leading by example. His children were his pride and joy, and he treasured being able to watch them grow and succeed.

Worldwide family vacations, food, sports, and reading held a special place in Frank's heart. Winemaking was an art that he learned from his father-in-law and a great accompaniment to his love for pasta bolognese. He was an ardent fan of UConn men's and women's basketball, the Green Bay Packers, and he adored attending the NY Giants games with his family.

Frank's love, laughter, and cherished memories will forever hold a special place in our hearts. In addition to his wife and children, Frank leaves behind his siblings, Judith Glassman, Susan Chowaniec (Stanley), David (Janet), and Bill (Marge) Sievel. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Mario Penna (Cathy), and numerous nieces and nephews.

As we bid farewell to Frank, may his spirit guide us, inspire us, and forever remind us of the preciousness of life and the power of love.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 14th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday, July 15th at 10:15 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.ahernfuneralhome.com.

In the days I shared with him in Travelers group contracts in the late `70s and `80s, I remember Frank as a "steady as she goes" calm and reassuring leader who could make the most challenging situations achievable. He always knew the right thing to say and and was so even keel, that projects with him were always a success. I was very happy to see he remained to have a long successful career in contracting and retired in a leadership role for which he was a natural I´m sure. My condolences to his family, and thank you for sharing such a great representative photo of what I recall about Frank.
