TESTA, Frank Robert Frank Robert Testa, 72, of Sebastian, FL and Weld, ME, died unexpectedly on Monday, (January 10, 2005) in Florida. He was born August 7, 1932 in New Haven, and moved to Sebastian in 1998, from Plainville. He spent summers at his home in Maine. Like his father before him, Mr. Testa was a produce farmer all his life and was proud to say that he and his brother Bobby grew the best sweet corn in the state. They owned and operated Testa Farms in Plainville and the Testa Farms retail business in Southington for many years. Frank was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. Frank was a source of strength, comfort and most of all, fun, to his family and friends. He cherished his time with his grandchildren and was the best grandfather in the world - a title that would mean more to him than just about anything else. Surviving him are his loving and devoted wife of 51 1/2 years, Connie Testa; mother, Theresa Testa of Avon; son, James R. Testa of Weld, ME and his wife Chris; daughter Katherine Butler of Simsbury, and her husband David; daughter Theresa Testa of Plainville, and her partner Elisabet Vargas; sisters Nancy Ann Celano of Sebastian, FL and her husband William, and Lorraine Testa of Avon; mother-in-law Ella Nongart; sister-in-law Henny Scott and her husband Bill, all of Sebastian, FL; sister-in-law Birgit Squicciarini and her husband Art of Cornelius, NC; and sister-in-law Ann Testa of Plainville. He leaves his five grandchildren who were blessed to have him as an integral part of their lives: Gabriel Duquette; Kathleen and Megan Butler; and Brianna and Sean Testa. He also leaves an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss him keenly. He was pre-deceased by his father Nicholas Testa and his brother Robert Testa. Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 17, at 9 a.m. from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 270 W. Avon Rd., Avon. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, also in Avon. Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
