1949 - 2023

Gail Meucci Turner, 73, of Hobe Sound, FL and East Windsor, CT beloved wife of Donald P. Grubbs, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Hartford Hospital with loving family by her side. Born July 31, 1949 in Hartford, CT daughter of the late Gabriel and Helen (Gancarz) Meucci. Before retiring, Gail worked for the West Hartford Board of Education. Besides her husband Donald, she is survived by her three children: John F. Bowen III and his wife, Michelle, of Enfield; Alison Rapose and her husband, Adam, of East Granby; Meredith Bowen of Wethersfield; a stepdaughter, Kellie Riccelli and her husband, Lou, of Suffield. Gail leaves nine beloved grandchildren: John F. Bowen, IV, Joshua Bowen, Chloe Rapose, Brenna Rapose, Casie Pafumi, Morganne Pafumi, Michael Pafumi, Evan Riccelli and Nicholas Riccelli and a great grandchild, Wyatt Bowen; her siblings: Joseph Meucci and his wife, Karen, of Woodstock, GA; Annie Johnston and her husband, Greg, of South Windsor; Paul Meucci and his wife, Renee, of Vernon. Gail is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who are like family, too numerous to list. Gail was predeceased by her late husband, Stephen Turner. Gail was an active member of the Circle of Friends group where she volunteered her crocheting skills to make blankets for active military members and NICU babies. She was passionate about helping others in need. One of the many ways she did this was through her involvement with the Italian Ladies and Women's clubs in Florida. While in CT, she was a member of the Suffield Country Club where she enjoyed golfing and being with friends. But above all else, Gail deeply loved her family and friends. There is NOTHING she wouldn't do for those she loved. Her family will receive friends on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 5-8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Jeanne Jugan Parish at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield.
