Gary Bengston Obituary



Gary Paul Bengston, 74, former Florida resident, passed away on Wednesday June 7, 2017 after a courageous battle with mesotheolemia. He was born to Paul Clarence Bengston and Bertha Mae (Broughton) Bengston on September 18, 1942 in Hartford CT. He lived in St Cloud and Kissimmee FL for the last twenty years. His final days were spent at his brothers home surrounded by his loving family and closest friends. Gary worked for many years in the commercial construction industry in a supervisory position. He was an owner/partner in a similar business. Gary also traveled the country driving and delivering vehicles for a trucking company. He devoted much of his time and energy to building and racing cars with friends and family. His retirement years were filled with family, salt-water fishing an a deep passion for nature and animals. He leaves a son, Gary Bengston Jr. of Somers CT., his brother Rick L Bengston, sister-in-law Linda A Bengston and nephew Max Victor Bengston all of Southwick MA. He also leaves behind his extended family Mark J Albano and his wife Margaret Shea Albano and their children Frank and Alessandra Albano all of Wilbraham MA. All of whom touched his life in a very profound way. His love for Max, Frank and Alessandra was very special and will be everlasting. Calling hours will be held Sunday June 11 at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Street North, Suffield CT from 1PM to 3PM. Burial Monday, June 12 at 10AM West Suffield Cemetery, 878 Mountain Rd, Suffield CT. There is not a day that goes by that I don't in some ways think of Gary. It doesn't seem like it has been a year since his passing. I will always remember the good times we had Racing at Connecticut Dragway and other drag strips.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of Gary in some way. He was like the brother I never had. I have a lot of great memories going Drag Racing with him driving. So many Memories. I could go on & on there is not space to write it all. May He Rest In Peace. Love You Gary - Top & Joyce

Gary you were like a Brother to me. We did alot of things together - Drag Racing & Building cars & MANY other things. Things that I will Never Forget. I will always remember the trip to Sanford Maine many years ago when we went up to look at a Drag Race Car chassie & many other thing we did.I could go on & on. We Love You and Always Will.You may be out of sight But Never Forgotten. Your Second Brother
