Love Always, Mom

December 12, 2013

Hi Honey,
It's a really tough day today...it's 10 years since you left us. My heart shattered that day & it still has a huge hole in it with you gone. Gary, you had the "Best Friends" that anyone could ever hope to have. Nick, Randi, Wes and Dan have been a constant in my life...helping me through the hurt & pain of you not being here with us. Each Birthday & Anniversary of you passing away - they have always remembered me & you too! Today being 10 years we are once again getting together. Dan is able to be with us since he's been stationed so far away. I am able to have something to look forward to on this really hard day because of them. We catch up on their lives and talk about you & all the great & funny stories they tell me about your times together. It helps me more than they know! It's also hard at the same time because I've seen the changes in their lives these last 10 years & I wonder how yours might have changed. I need to remember you are at peace & always looking over us. Since you've passed there is a saying that I tell myself & anyone else that will listen :) and it is: Live Well, Laugh Often, and Love Deeply...for we are here for Such a Short Time. Gary know how much we all love you & miss you so very, very much!
Love, Mom XO XO XO XO XO XO XO XO

Today marks 2 years since I had to say goodbye to one of my best friends. I will never forget the crazy times I spent with Gary, or how he always found a way to make me laugh at the dumbest things. I will never forget the day I was at work when I found out; I had just talked to him the day before and everything seemed fine. We were supposed to go out to breakfast like we always did on Sundays, and I was going to pay that time. Unfortunately I never got to have that moment with him, and it still hurts me to this day. I will always carry him with me and never forget how important he was in my life. I give his friends and family all my love and support on this day, and hope that everyone takes a moment to remember Gary. I love you and I miss you man.

We knew Gary for a very short time, he and my daughter Amanda DePina had been friends for awhile which then led them to start dating the last couple months. I heard nothing but good things about Gary, Amanda and him would always joke around and laugh and she will miss him dearly. I hope that Gary has found peace with himself and I know he is in a happier place right now watching over all that he knew and loved.

With sympathy to the family.

Sincerly,
